What you’ll find here is only a starting point. For a more tailored approach, the Bleaklow Farm team can provide direct recommendations based on how you want to spend your time.

Mam Tor
Mam Tor is a 517m walk up one of the Peak District’s most loved peaks. With the nickname “The Mother Hill’ you know that this walk will not disappoint. On the outskirts of Castleton, this peak is roughly 30 minutes’ drive from Bleaklow Farm. With the raw beauty of the area, it proves to be very popular with locals and visitors. We recommend waking up bright and early to tackle the walk and enjoy the charming Castleton.

The Peacock, Rowsley
Nestled in the heart of the Peak District, this old pub executes charm with its weathered stone walls and timeworn wooden beams. Just 20 minutes down the road from Bleaklow Farm, it is worth booking a table. The Peacock is the perfect way to unwind and soak in the region’s natural beauty while enjoying a cozy and inviting atmosphere. After a day of exploring the stunning landscape there’s no better place to eat than this fine dining restaurant, nestled in the Peak District.

Chatsworth House
Home to 16 generations of the Cavendish Family, you can visit, learn all the history and stroll through its well-kept gardens. This vast house is a must visit, whether that’s to the farm park to see the animals and play in the park for the kids or even the house to take in all the history. Chatsworth House is a 12-minute drive from Bleaklow Farm, or a 2 hour walk through the lovely surrounding fields and grounds of Chatsworth.

Longstone Moor Walk
Just minutes from Bleaklow, Longstone Moor is a lovely walk for a Sunday afternoon, a level walk with a shortage of rugged terrain, classed as an easy stroll, and perfect for children. There is no driving needed with it being seconds down the tracks from Bleaklow, lace up your boots and head out to explore.

Coombs Dale Walk
An excellent walk for butterfly spotting, this 4.7-mile walk which starts in Stoney Middleton, will not disappoint. Coombs Dale is a steep sided, limestone valley cut into the hills on the east side of Longstone Moor, which sits close to Bleaklow Farm. Tie into a longer walk along Black Harry Lane to see the quarries where Tom Cruise filmed his dramatic train crash stunt for Mission Impossible 7.

Bakewell
Famous for its pudding (not tart!) the charming, historic market town of Bakewell is just a short drive from Bleaklow Farm and close to Chatsworth House.
As well as the original Bakewell Pudding Shop, the ancient and picturesque capital of the Peak District offers independent shops, pretty courtyards, traditional pubs, quality dining, specialist markets.
